LifeRing Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
1 Scope
This Policy explains how the LifeRing App processes and protects your personal information when providing services, and how you can manage your personal information and exercise your rights. Please read this Policy before use.
LifeRing is operated by Shenzhen Lvmao Information Technology Co., Ltd. (深圳市旅猫信息科技有限公司). We process and protect your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Daily records and statistics in the App are for your personal reference only.
2 Information We Process and Its Purposes
Account and security verification: Your phone number or email address, account identifier, password verification information, verification codes, login times, IP address, and security verification status are used for login, password recovery, account management, and security. If you choose WeChat login or account linking, we process only the necessary account information listed on the authorization screen and do not request your WeChat password.
Profile and preferences: The profile photo, nickname, date of birth, gender, height, weight, and region you provide, together with your step and sleep goals, bedtime and wake-up time, language, appearance, units, and reminder settings, are used to display your profile, set goals, and save preferences. You can choose to provide or change this information by following the instructions on the relevant screen.
Step records: Daily step counts, step counts by time period, record dates and times, and corresponding statistics are used to display activity records, progress toward goals, and changes over time.
Sleep records: Sleep and wake-up times, sleep duration, sleep stages and their start and end times, sleep scores, and record dates are used to display sleep records, changes over time, and personal reviews. Step and sleep records may constitute sensitive personal information; their disclosure or misuse may affect your privacy and rights relating to your person. We process this information to provide the recording services you request and obtain separate consent when required by law. Refusing this processing will affect recording services that depend on this information.
Device connection and synchronization: When you connect a compatible ring, we process its identifier, name, model, Bluetooth connection status, battery level, firmware version, linking and synchronization times, and necessary connection logs and error codes to find and connect to the device, synchronize records, update firmware, and troubleshoot problems. You do not need to connect the ring to view step and sleep records already in your account; synchronizing new records from the ring requires an actual connection.
Feedback and service operation: Contact details, feedback text, images, and related device information you submit voluntarily are used to address problems. Your phone's operating system, App version, network status, crash and error logs, and necessary operation records are used for service maintenance, security, and troubleshooting. Please do not include personal information unrelated to the problem in your feedback.
Sleep sounds: Your selected tracks, playback and pause status, and sleep timer settings are used for sound playback and controls. This playback feature does not record microphone audio.
3 System Permissions
Bluetooth: Used to find and connect to the ring and synchronize records. You can deny or turn off this permission. If it is off, you cannot connect or synchronize new records, but you can still view records that have already been saved.
Camera and photos: Used when taking or selecting a profile photo or submitting feedback images. We process only the content you select or submit. You can deny permission without affecting the separate record-viewing feature.
Location: When identifying your location in your profile, we process your location and the province and city derived from it with system permission. You can also select your region manually. Denying location access does not affect viewing step and sleep records.
Notifications: Used for reminders you enable and for account, device, and service notifications. You can turn them off in system or App settings. Network access and local storage are used for login, reading account records, synchronization, caching, and saving settings. System permissions can be managed in your iPhone's Settings; turning off a permission affects the corresponding feature.
4 Use of Information and Third-Party Services
We use the relevant information for the services described in this Policy. If we use personal information beyond its original purpose or introduce processing that requires a separate notice, we will notify you and obtain the necessary authorization as required by law. Without separate authorization, we do not use step and sleep records that can identify you for scientific research, model training, or marketing, and we do not use advertising identifiers for tracking across apps.
Services such as accounts, cloud synchronization, file storage, and SMS or email verification may be provided by entrusted service providers. We provide only the information needed for the actual service, restrict their processing purposes and scope, impose protection obligations, and do not allow them to change the purposes on their own.
Ring communication components process device identifiers, firmware information, and Bluetooth communication data locally on your phone to establish connections, interpret records, and update firmware. The fact that a component runs locally does not mean that we provide your account records to the hardware supplier.
Apple system services provide capabilities such as Bluetooth, notifications, camera access, photo selection, and system region identification. The WeChat Open Platform processes authorized information only when you use the corresponding login or account-linking feature. If Amap or Tencent location services are enabled for region identification, coordinates and network information are processed under the authorization for that location request to return the province and city. Merely listing these services in this Policy does not mean we provide data to them when they are not called.
For processing that legally constitutes providing information to an independent third party, transferring it, or disclosing it publicly, we will inform you of the recipient, purposes, and scope of information and obtain the necessary consent as required by law, unless otherwise provided by law. We require recipients to provide protection no lower than the commitments in this Policy and the requirements of applicable law.
5 Retention and Security
Account information, personal settings, and related records are stored on your phone and on the servers or storage facilities necessary to provide account services. We use access controls, protection during transmission, and security measures appropriate to the risks. Before any cross-border provision of information for which the law requires procedures, we complete the relevant notice, consent, and other legally required procedures.
Account information and profile data are retained while your account exists and as needed to provide services. Step and sleep records are retained as needed for synchronization, historical viewing, and related services. Feedback and operational logs are retained as needed to address problems, conduct security audits, and meet legal requirements. When the purpose has been fulfilled, retention is no longer necessary, or the retention period expires, we delete or anonymize the information as required by law. The date range available for viewing on a screen does not represent the retention period for all server-side data.
We handle information that must be deleted by law in accordance with applicable requirements. Copies that must technically be cleared through the backup update cycle will no longer be used for other business purposes, and access and further processing will be restricted. Information that the law requires us to retain may be used only for the corresponding legal purposes.
6 Your Rights and Account Deletion
You can view and correct information, adjust preferences and permissions, or log out through your profile and settings. You can also contact us to request access to, copies of, correction of, or deletion of personal information, withdraw consent, or request an explanation of our data processing rules. We will carry out reasonable and necessary identity verification and, as a rule, respond within 15 working days after completing that verification, unless a different requirement applies by law.
You can select “Permanent Account Deletion” under “Me — Account Security.” After you complete identity verification and confirm as instructed on the screen, your account and related data are deleted in accordance with the deletion rules, without a cooling-off period. This operation is irreversible, and the original account records cannot be recovered. Processing of information that must be retained by law is restricted in accordance with legal requirements.
If you choose the standard account deletion application offered on the screen, the cooling-off period and effective rules shown there apply. You can withdraw the application during the cooling-off period as instructed on the screen. Logging out, disconnecting Bluetooth, unlinking the ring, or uninstalling the App does not, by itself, delete your server-side account or records.
You can withdraw privacy consent through the entry point provided in the App or contact us to make a request. Withdrawing privacy consent in the App clears the relevant data on your device and exits the App. Deletion of server-side information requires permanent account deletion, a standard account deletion application taking effect, or a separate deletion request. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
7 Protection of Minors and Policy Updates
This service is intended primarily for adults. Minors should use it under a guardian's guidance. When processing personal information of children under 14, we obtain guardian consent and take protective measures as required by applicable rules. Guardians can contact us to exercise the relevant rights.
We make this Policy available for review in the App. If there are material changes to processing purposes, information categories, third-party sharing arrangements, or your rights, we will provide a prominent notice and seek renewed consent when required by law.
